Aspiring Professional Basketball Players
If you are trying to be a professional basketball player, you will be traveling down a very competitive and challenging path. Most of the information provided by the media and in general regarding professional basketball (the NBA mainly) is mainly produced as entertainment content. This information is not particularly useful for the highly technical goal of being an elite basketball player. Some of it is helpful, but it must be carefully processed and curated and analyzed - like finding a needle in the haystack. There is a lot of marketing hype to filter through. Furthermore. in today's climate of positivity focused narratives, often times the practical information is lost or not discussed at all.
These writings are intended to cut through all that, and break down the history of professional basketball into clear, concise subjects that an aspiring basketball player can understand and incorporate into their goals.
Much of the information here will be considered controversial by the general media or fanbases, but again, these are people that are not focused on being players.
Officiating
Officiating will be heavily discussed and factored into all the writings found here. Perhaps this is the area of highest controversy. The most sensitive and taboo subject for the NBA business is discussions about officiating, as it would likely be the most harmful to their business. However, for a player wanting to succeed in the NBA, it is critical to understand the degree of influence it has on the outcomes of games, and the earlier it is understood, the more advantage that player will have. Video Based Analysis
The discussions will be based largely on topics that can be seen on video. This is the clearest way to discuss basketball from an analytical aspect. Video is not perfect, but it is the best tool available to the general public to validate opinions and perspectives on the game, which will inevtiably vary wildly.
