Comparing by Points total is unreliable

The NBA has changed the rules and point totals so drastically since 2014, that it has confused the matter of past performances. Since there are more points and shots available now, it is easier to get a higher score, but it doesn't mean the individual made more shots.

So let us simply look at who made the most shots total, regardless of point total.

There is one problem with even this analysis: the NBA in 2020 added 2 extra shots and more time. This further complicates the analysis of past performances, and unfortunately, the performances from 2020+ cannot be compared to past performances.
